Geezus, are we a boring lot or what??
There has been a WHOLE lotta nuthing going on around here lately.
The boy is doing pretty well. His excitement for his upcoming birthday grows every day. This week, we've started using a chore chart with him, and will begin paying him an allowance of $1/week for successfully completing his chores. His chore list isn't very long, but for a start I think it's just right. His chores include: 1) Getting himself dressed; 2) Helping to set the table at dinner time; 3) Putting his dishes in the sink after dinner; 4) Picking up his toys and books; and 5) Putting his laundry in his hamper. He's been doing really really well with all of the chores with the exception of putting his dishes in the sink after dinner. The past 2 nights he hasn't made it through dinner with out being excused from the table for bad behavior. My God the boy can be infuriating with his attitude and back-talk. Tonight was better than last night, so hopefully he'll continue to improve and will be making it through dinner so he can put his dishes in the sink and start earning those stars.
Otherwise, we've been slowly making progress on our basement re-model. I don't think I've blogged about the project before because it's been such a slow-going process. Demolition took place over 2 years ago. The last piece of drywall got put up yesterday, and we're working on mudding and taping now. Slowly but surely we're getting there. At least now, we can definately see a light at the end of the tunnel.
And that's really about it. Yawn.
