Peg Bundy or June Cleaver?? You decide...but my many misadventures speak for themselves.

Rock Chalk

Jayhawk fans, don't get too excited. This post isn't about KU's impeding foray into March Madness. This post is about Jayhawks of the soccer variety.
Colin's first soccer practice was this evening and their first order of business was to name the team. Lots of different names were tossed around. Colin made quite a good campaign for the Tigers, and almost had everyone convinced. The coach's suggestion was the Aviators, but the kids didn't like that one too well. The Giraffes, the Elephants, and the Wildcats also had brief moments of popularity. In the end, though, the Jayhawks won out.
The rest of the practice was spent dribbling, passing, scoring, and even playing (in a VERY loose sense of the word) a little 3 on 3 game. Colin had the best time. The coach was great with the kids and is really focused on teaching them some fundamentals and making sure that first and foremost they have FUN.

Their first game is on Saturday. I'll have the video camera so be looking forward to some video footage of that.
